So you splurged all weekend but your headed to the gym on Monday to sweat it all out. You will run on the treadmill an extra thirty minutes and exercise everyday and that will make it all better. Well until next weekend when you repeat the same thing and same habits. All of a sudden you realize you are a slave to the treadmill and doomed for a lifetime of chronic exercise just to keep your weight in check. If only there was an easier way.
Does this sound familiar?
Guess what? There is an easier and healthier way to keep weight off longterm and still enjoy life without being a slave to the gym everyday.
First understand that you can’t out exercise a bad diet! You can try but eventually you’ll get burnt out and won’t be any healthier for it.

To lose body fat moderate exercise is vital but most important is paying attention to your diet & INSULIN production. 80% of body composition is from what you eat not exercise. You need to dial in on what you are eating on a daily basis.

Excess Carbohydrate ingestion drives insulin which drives fat storage. The SAD (standard American diet) is carb loaded and a serious disaster. 63% of calories Americans are consuming today are coming from processed foods & refined grains.👎🏼

•Excess Insulin in the bloodstream also promotes inflammation and accelerated aging.
.
.
•Excess insulin also messes with the healthy function of other hormones such as thyroid, sex hormones, and adrenal hormones.

Keeping a moderate insulin level is the way to long-term fat loss and better health overall.👍🏻

How do you lower insulin to tap into fat stores?
It’s not just about going low carb.
The answer is a primal-aligned eating pattern and sensible exercise program!!
The right carbs ( veggies and occasional fruit) ) + clean pastured meats and wild fish + healthy fats.
This may also mean changing lifestyle behaviors that are not serving you well (aka overdoing it on the weekends). You know what these are!
Sensible exercise is hitting it hard only a few times a week and the other days doing something moderate and have fun! Also moving more in general every day is something everyone could benefit from. Some examples are getting a stand-up desk , walking during lunch breaks, taking the stairs over the elevator, and parking in the farthest parking spot possible so you will have to walk more.
Bottom Line: Chronic exercise is not the solution for effective weight management. Lowering your carbohydrate intake moderates insulin production which is more significant to reducing excess body fat than burning more calories.
Be Well 🙂
