Shall I dare say that I am not that into football (GASP!) Honestly, I would much rather watch hockey or my daughter play soccer! But with Superbowl Sunday coming fast I was given a challenge by a friend to put together a great party plate!  So I got to work in my kitchen and created something yummy that’s also pretty healthy with no “fake” ingredients!

Hey and there are always those amazing commercials and half-time show to keep you entertained!

INGREDIENTS

1 Grain free paleo pizza crust mix ( I used a mix from Julian Bakery)

1 pound 100% organic grass fed beef ( I use Beyond Organic ground beef)

1 BPA free can of Eden Organic Black Beans no salt added

1 can Amy’s organic refried black beans

2 cups raw shredded cheddar (I use Beyond Organic Raw cheddar curds)

1 packet organic taco spice (Simply Organic Southwest Taco) or you can simply make your own with this simple recipe (4 Tablespoons chili powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, 2 Tablespoons cumin, 2 tsp paprika, 3 tsp sea salt, 3 tsp pepper) sprinkle a little at a time to desired liking.

Raw Sauerkraut (optional)

Homemade guacamole (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Start out by preheating the oven to 425 F.  If you use a pizza stone you will get a slightly crispier crust.  If not a sheet pan will do.

2.Then using a food processor, mix the Paleo Pizza Crust Mix with a ½ cup of water and a pinch of sea salt for a few until it becomes a ball.  You could do this by hand or with a mixer too! Place the ball on parchment paper, and roll it out to your liking.  Then prick the crust all over with a fork.  Now you put the crust on your hot pizza stone and cook it for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.

3. While crust is cooking brown the beef in a pan on the stove adding in spice to your liking.  (Usually for 1 pound beef you could use 1 spice packet or 2-4 Tablespoons of homemade taco spice).  Once meat is cooked and combined with spice turn off heat and set aside.IMG_2985-225x300 A SUPER-BOWL recipe thats sure to PLEASE the party!

4. Remove crust from oven after 9-11 minutes.

5. Spread refried beans all over crust, next ground beef, then a couple handfuls of raw cheese, and 1/2 to 1 can of black beans.  Put pizza now with toppings back in the oven for another 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbling well. IMG_2990-225x300 A SUPER-BOWL recipe thats sure to PLEASE the party!

6. Remove from oven and let cool.  Using kitchen scissors or pizza cutter cut pizza into smaller squares or triangles.  Serve and top with homemade guacamole (avocado, lime, salt, fresh cilatro , mashed together), and raw sauerkraut.  Enjoy!
