You have all probably seen by now that Dr. Mercola recently put out an article on the top 9 foods you should NEVER eat. I fully agree on his points and here is why;
Canned tomatoes-BPA in the can lining is a toxic chemical linked to reproductive abnormalities, neurological effects, heart disease, and more.
Deli meats and processed hot dogs-made with meats from animals typically given growth hormones, antibiotics. Eating these meats increases your risk of cancer, especially bowel cancer and NO amount is safe to eat.
Margarine -absolute worst fat to eat because it contains heart-harming trans fats.
Vegetable oils-highly processed and distorts the important omega 3- omega 6 ratio. They also oxidize good cholesterol turning it into bad cholesterol
Microwave popcorn bags- are lined with PFOA and these chemicals when heated disrupt your endocrine system, sex hormones, and are carcinogens.
Non-organic potatoes and other highly sprayed conventional produce-because they contain high amounts of harmful pesticides.
Regular Table Salt- is refined and processed and contains chemicals like ferrocyanide and aluminosilicate and added iodine.
Soybeans and any soy products-most all soybean crops are genetically modified and unfermented soy has been linked to digestive distress, immune system breakdown, thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, reproductive disorders, and infertility.
Artificial sweetener-Studies have repeatedly shown artificial sweeteners stimulate appetite, increase carbohydrate cravings, stimulate fat storage and weight gain.
With all this said I know many people still eat these foods and don’t know how to take them out of their diets or find better healthier alternatives. So I broke down each food and what you could swap it out for. Here’s to your health!

Processed meat ➔ swap out for organic grass fed beef hotdogs and nitrate free pastured deli lunch meats.
Margarine ➔ swap out for real pastured butter or ghee.
Vegetable oils ➔ swap out for coconut oil or coconut oil/ghee blend.
Microwave popcorn ➔ swap out for PFOA free bags and gmo free corn.
Non organic fruits and veggies ➔ swap out for organic or at least buy organic off the “dirty dozen” list.
Table salt ➔ swap out for Celtic sea salt or Pink Himalayan salt
Soy protein and soybeans ➔ swap out for sprouted beans like mung beans.
Though Dr. Mercola’s guide is beneficial its possible to navigate and find REAL food options to replace the processed versions so you can still enjoy these foods.
