I don’t like to watch the news but can’t help but be bombarded lately with the media frenzy about this years Flu.  Geez, are they really trying to scare us or what?!  Here’s my advice to you regarding the flu this year or any year…Don’t freak out about the media frenzy and turn off the news!!
The real problem lies with people getting a flu shot and feeling they are 100% protected. Obviously thats not the case this year and in many years past as the flu vaccine is not as effective as its claimed to be.  Instead don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Don’t just go out and get a shot and do nothing else to keep you or your family healthy.
 
I don’t get the flu vaccine and I don’t recommend it to others for various reasons. The BEST flu prevention is to keep your immune system in TIP TOP SHAPE to be able to ward off or fight off quickly the flu or any illness!
Here is a great protocol to follow for flu prevention: (Besides the obvious of washing hands and avoiding those who are sick) This will minimize your risk of contracting all those nasty viruses that are going around by strengthening your immunity naturally!
  1. Minimize or avoid sugar, grains, and other starchy foods. These foods suppress immune function and slow the body’s healing ability.
  2. Drink plenty of clean filtered water daily. Hot liquids such as bone broth and matcha tea are beneficial also.
  3. Eat Clean
  4. Exercise
  5. Avoid packaged, processed, and fast food
  6. Get proper rest every night
  7. Take a whole foods multivitamin daily
  8. Take a vitamin D3 supplement daily
  9. Eat foods high in vitamin C weekly such as parsley and citrus fruit
  10. Eat plenty of garlic weekly. It is a powerhouse natural antibiotic, anti fungal, and antibacterial. Garlic can tackle almost any illness.
  11. Supplement with elderberry daily (you can purchase here or make your own.) This study published in the Journal of International Medical Research showed that when the extract is used within the first 48 hours of the onset of flu symptoms, it shortens the duration of flu symptoms by an average of four days!
  12. Diffuse Frankincense oil all around your house.  Research supports its use as a natural healer and immunostimulant.

 

The best flu prevention is actually not a vaccine but keeping your body healthy and immune system functioning at optimal level all year round. If the flu or any illness does strike there are a lot of options in natural illness treatment. (Note***People who are very sick or who are at high risk of serious flu complications should seek medical treatment.)
